"View from my Bedroom (Chez Chantal & Petit Georges)"

pastel 13" x 10" 2002

Imagine looking out your bedroom window every morning to this enchanting view. All of France is a garden, and this small farming town of one hundred residents has the typical church at its center. The main crop here, outside Toulouse, is sunflowers. I was in heaven, knowing what fun I'd have drawing them. You can see only a hint of the peek-a-boo Pyrenees Mountains in the distance. Chantal made curtains out of the lovely Provencal fabric featuring olives. She also made us feel right at home in the comfortable guest-rooms, which housed the animals long ago. Such history, such beauty, such a family- Vive la France.
