It’s great to have our own chocolate factory in Berkeley. I grew up smelling chocolate being made at Baker’s Chocolate in Milton, Massachusetts. Is that why I’m a chocolaholic? My mother and I went on a great tour of this operation. They only make dark chocolate. Yes! The blending of the beans is like making wine; they spoke of hints of cherries. We sampled cocoa nibs, the edible shells of the cocoa beans – fun to cook with. Café Cocoa is their popular restaurant and I depicted the outdoor patio under their striking logo. The “Bicycle Boulevard” adds to the Berkeleyness. But where’s his helmet?
